How come I didn't know about this?

I was searching through YouTube to find some Alexander Karelin Greco-Roman videos and I came across this MMA match he had back in 1999. I used to always question how he would do if he did MMA and here it is. Not bad for his debut, he reminds me of Zangief. If he was younger with a decent stand up, he'd be twice the monster that he already is. If Fedor ever fights Randy, I'd like to hear some news that Fedor's been training Greco with Karelin.

Probably because it was a known work. A shoot-style pro-wrestling match of sorts.

He was going against a pro-wrestler named Akira Maeda (also the founder of RINGS). Neither ever competed in a legitimate MMA match.
