Cope needs to slow it down before his name is shot...
Whats up with Kit Cope taking the fights he's taking? Yeah, he's an accomplished kickboxer, but history has shown us for the past 14 years that that just doesn't guarantee you're gonna be a great MMA fighter. I'm sure Cope is a decent fighter, but why is he taking the kind of fights he's taking with having so little experience? 3 of his 4 losses have been against Tiki Ghosn, Kenny Florian, and Now Rob McCullough which now brings his record to 1-4....................1-4? Cope is a phenominal athlete, has a good look, speak well. The guy could be a very marketable guy in due time, but how much longer can he run his name and record in to the ground before he wears out his welcome in the bigtime? I mean, a record doesn't always mean somebody is a bad fighter, but you just can't make a living in the big leagues when you winning 20% of your fights and its a shame he doesn't have somebody managing him correctly instead of feeding him to the wolves at such a young age. I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but I think its a shame to see a young guy ruin his career when he could be a top guy in 2-3 years if he slowed things down a little and built a strong ground game to compliment his top notch strking and even started fighting lower quality opponents and work towards the big dogs instead of just jumping in there from day one. I just hate to see young guys do this to themselves. Say what you want about pro boxing, but those guys are managed properly to where they slowly build themselves up to the big fights, so they're ready for it when the finally get there. Cope is a young guy who could be a contender one day and the money in MMA is only gonna get better and better.......so whats the rush? Anyway, thanks for reading. Just felt like ranting when i read the results of his fight tonight.

From the PBP, I'll give him credit because he definitely seems to be getting more well rounded - rubber guard, gogoplata, kneebar - At first I thought they were accidentally putting in the wrong name....

I agree, he has a lot of potential, but he just seems to always bite off more than he can chew when it comes to his mma fights. The guy needs to train wrestling and bjj for a while, then he'd be a well rounded out. And the guy needs to go kick it at some of the small shows and build up a foundation and some experience before signing up for the big shows anymore.

I agree with the TS. If Kit really wants to make a career out of MMA (and not just use this to springboard into something else), he needs to have more setup fights--i.e. fights he can win against guys at his same level. It's not like he's 35 and needs to fight more experienced fighters right away. He needs to build up his skill-set and his resume. Otherwise, he might as well stick with the T.V. show and forget fighting.

He looks as lost as Stefan Leko in the ring, some have it and some dont.

He needs to find a wrestling coach so he can keep the fight standing...but i think for the most part he is invited to fight because he is kind of famous, has a cool name, and is cute.
