It came from Paul Buentello. It's been all over fightsport and MMA.TV.. i posted it here from those sources and everyone laughed and said I was full of shit. It's true. We should be getting reports here soon enough.

A source close to the situation spoke to MMANews.com's Michael Moody on a condition of anonymity and explained that the blood tests came back right before Aleks and Buentello were scheduled to weigh in and that is why there was so much confusion around the stage and why the fighters did not weigh in. Gary Goodridge ended up stepping up on extremely short notice and filling in for the Russian heavyweight.
The tests were positive for Hepatitis B which resulted in the CSAC cancelling the fight. Hep B is the result of transmission from exposure to infectious blood or body fluids containing blood. Possible forms of transmission include (but are not limited to) unprotected sexual contact, blood transfusions, re-use of contaminated needles & syringes, and vertical transmission from mother to child during childbirth.
A positive Hepatitis B test is no laughing matter and this could spell the end of Aleks' fighting career as many of the people close to the situation pointed out. I can't imagine many fighters willing to step up to fight Aleks with the possibility of catching the disease. He most definitely will not fight in the United States again and it will be interesting to see if this positive test results in organizations from all over the world black listing the brother of heavyweigh king, Fedor Emelianenko.

Anyone else still doubt what Buentello told me?

Is that really what he said?? Wow!! I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since I don't think they measure temp in RUSSIA by Farhenheit, haha.

yeah, sorry, All hep types are transferable through blood contact...but as I was saying, Hep B is curable, and there's no need to say Aleks is retiring. For all we know, this is just a rumor and might as well be all wrong.

He could just be a carrier of hepatitits B. Many people in europe and Asia are asymptomatic carriers because it was transmitted from their mother to them as a baby. If so, most people now are vaccinated as teenagers, and fighters certainly should get vaccinated if they are not already.
If he has hepatitits C, and is a carrier, which could be the case (Tattoos have been a culprit), then that could pose a problem for licensing, since there is no vaccine and it is a bloodborne disease.
Sucks for us in the states, and sucks for Aleks.
The good news is he now has something in common with Pam Anderson.

You know what, this is such bullshit. I cant believe his private medical records are now all out in the open for everyone. I am so upset about this. I have been a fan of his ever since I saw his first fight.
Well...unless Aleks steps out and announces it to the public, then I have no reason to listen to what anyone else has to say. To throw someone elses business out there is wrong, especially when it comes to something like this. I work at a hospital and there is a heavy duty concept known as patient privacy. If you tested positive for a disease, would you want everyone to know about it? Well he couldnt fight, and didnt fight, so what else do they want? Why must they let everyone know his diagnosis, I am sure once he found out, he and his family were distraught enough, but now everyone has to know about it, you know he is a person, and I'm sure all of you wouldnt want your medical records to be public knowledge.
Also, you can't believe what everyone tells you, maybe Buentello just said it so you wouldnt bug him. He just let you believe what you want to think.
Again, I will take everything as a rumor until he goes into the public and announces it.
