Both JZ & fellow ATT teammate, KANG, feels he lost 2 Aoki

Kang-

Sherdog: Your ATT teammate, JZ, also dropped his match to Aoki. What did you think about his fight?
Kang: Aoki won fair and square, but in my opinion this second fight should not even have happened. ‘JZ' should have been in the second round already.

JZ-

"Apparently due to the number of submission attempts, and his ability to otherwise stifle his opponent's offensive offerings, Aoki eventually walked away a unanimous decision winner -- a decision that "JZ" agrees with.

"I feel like I didn't win," said the American Top Team lightweight. "He did better than me -- he controlled the fight."

So can all the DREAM/PRIDE/AOKI/JAPANESE haters find something new to chew on?

lol

all that proves is that they're not really really poor losers like Aoki is

its called sportsmanship, a concept Aoki fans might not be familiar with

they don't have to say Aoki won it fair and square to be a good sportsman. They could have said Aoki fought a good fight, but we care to disagree.

Too bad JZ isn't taking Aoki's place. I guess it's an honor thing.

I love Pride and Japan, and I still dislike Aoki, there's no all or nothing with those things. He won, no doubt, that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it, or become his fan.

Its silly to argue that Aoki lost. And JZ (or Kang) would make a fool of himself if he did. Sure, a couple of diehard Aoki haters would be happy but anyone else would just think its stupid. That said, it is a pity JZ didnt take Aoki's place in the GP. He is still one of the most interesting LWs IMO.

Thanks for the post - interesting.

BTW - like the avatar, but I have to say that looks more like OJ than it does BJ Penn...

I just glad this type of competition is happening. You won't here me complaining about another organization outside the UFC being successful. I don't care how controversial the fights are.

as a grappler with shitty striking i thought the fight was amazing and couldn't see it going any other way.

while i was watching the fight, i kept thinking to myself who would win if this fight were to last forever? like the royce and saku match.

btw: im not saying i have anywhere near the talent aoki does, just saying skill set ratios of grappling to striking is similar (and much worse)

It is always refreshing to hear/see fighters behave like proffessionals. I am sure that regardless of previous controversy with these two fights there will be a rubber match to settle it all.

I wish more people would just take losing a close decsion like JZ has.

He got outworked plain and simple, just like Ishida did to Melendez but El Nino swore he won which I feel he didn't and I am a Melendez nuthugger from day 1.

JZ is all class and this wont set him back at all.
