Bas was NEVER a real fighter. Randleman (who I am not a particular fan of) BEAT him, but being black, was ripped off in favour of the Deutch dude with the shaved head. What a joke.

Fact is, in his fight with Tank, Kimbo brawled. Where was Bas' vaunted high-tech MMA training?? Exactly. Bas knows less about fighting than Kimbo does. Kimbo used what worked and ended the fight with Tank the way REAL fights end: in a minute or less.

Bas is using Kimbo to keep his own fake legend going and to make some chedda. Kimbo is using Bas to lend him some legitamacy to break in to the MMA world.

Bas will be tossed aside like the boatyard bums and crack ho's Kimbo ran thru before he got to MMA.

The main reason Bas doesnt get big paydays today is cuz nobody wants to see him (he was boring and fake as hell throughout his actual career) and cuz he does not have the balls that Tank does, period.

Bas is like the schoolyard squealer or snitch who threatens the tough guy that he is going to "tell" -- great Bas...first porno sponsors, then kimbo, now you are sounding like a little girl. I think Rutten is one of the truly first evolved MMA fighters. His commentary has always been entertaining and insightful. I think alot of people just seem to shit on him because he has such a large fan base, to me that doesnt warrant any hate he gets.

That really depends who they're put down by.
Anyone constantly bashing fighters - not constructive criticism - isn't an mma fan and their opionions are worthless.

Bas does have a huge fanbase, I think partly cus he was/is acitve on this forum and the UG, so the fans have valued his input over the years. Same goes for Enson and also James Thompson on his own forum. And Evan Tanner did a one-of-a-kind blog.
Being close to the fans will win you admiration. And rightly so.
Also Bas has a big personality and has shared some good stories over the years. It's hard not to like him.

I think the tide has shifted for Bas over the last year. A lot of fans have jumped on Bas, and I'm sure it's due to his association with Kimbo. I don't see the problem with Bas training Kimbo.
If Bas wants to put time into working with Kimbo, what should it matter?

Bas might've come out with a few outlandish comments as of late, but he helped put mma on the map.
He carved out a career in Japan, and has been one of the better commentators in mma.
