Bas + 7 Years off = Kimo victory?

So I watched the WFA Special and it begs the question...... Is Bas setting himself up for failure?

Now I know the flames are inevitable so let me just say this first.

Kimo is a strong SOB- He appears to be in pretty good shape.

Bas looked very calm and relaxed during that special. I dont mean that in a good way either- I was away from MMA during the Bas years/ Tito years/ BJ Penn years, so I know I am uneducated about Bas, but come on!

How old is Bas? How old is Kimo? How much do they weigh?
It looks to me like Kimo has a better chance than most people are giving him.

And no I am no Kimo N-Hugger-- I really never liked him at all-- and I know people here consider him a monster can.

Thoughts?

i don't think ppl are giving kimo enough credit. everyone thinks he'll get wrecked in this fight. but kimo's a bjj black belt (so he's got a good ground game) and he's fought in k-1, basically beating bob sapp (so he's a good striker). i don't think bas will win as easily as everyone seems to think

Kimo's "black belt" is pretty iffy. He got fucking tapped by an ankle lock from his guard by Minowa, now either he threw the fight, or his black belt is a joke- take your pick.

Bas is always very calm and relaxed he says in the fight he likes to listen to his opponent breath. Kimo has been doing BJJ on and off with Joe (the Guerilla) MoerieraSP? since before his Varlens fight in the UU. But hes still basically a slugger, a hard hitter who almost put down Bob Sapp before finding himelf KOed. But against a refined kickboxer like Bas who may not look it but is a very bad man himself I see him going out early he was Koed by Ken shamrock with a knee. Look for Bas to put him down with a liver shot and maybe a few tears from KImo after the fact.

Bas has not fought in 7 years but was on a 20 fight win streak at retirement he nearly came out to fight a kickboxing match Vs Wand in Pride that fell through for some reason. Bas in shape has power speed and footwork good submissions and he doesn't give unless something breaks bad. I do like Kimo but I see this match as a tune up for el guapo to take on a legit 205er down the road.

People are underestimating Kimo, he's a good fighter, he's had some tough loses but the guys been beat off the best, the guy deserves some credit.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Kimo win this fight.

you sir are a fool! you don't know what you're talking about i'm not flaming just calling you out on this one

what gives you the impression that kimo is so strong? he's big and has cheesy tattoos, but has never really been impressive even against lower level small guys.. bas is a fight god, he knows exactly what he has to do to be prepared to take out kimo, and he will probably inside the first 5 minutes standing
