Those of us familiar with the hockey schedule up here know that the Habs play pretty much every Saturday night, and more often than not they are at home. This leaves very little opportunity for other shows such as concerts, MMA events, etc to book a Saturday night between October and May.

There have been two boxing matches in the last month and TKO has two shows scheduled for this month at the bell centre If they can get in I don't see why the UFC can't, they have been talking about it for a while, it is not like it is a new thing. It makes me wonder how serious they are about it. Why couldn't they have put in a bid a year in advance? They have been talking about it for longer than that!

Simply because the NHL doesnt give you the schedule for the games a year in advance, Stephane Patry said he was already aware of the exact date when the UFC were gonna be in town during a TKO best fights of the year last week on RDS (TSN french version) but he couldnt say more about it cose the UFC is the one who's gotta make the statement, not TKO

The tentative date is April 14th, which is kinda weird since it's gonna be the start of the playoffs so I don't know how they could have already decided on a date. It's 50/50 that it will be postponed again, sometime in June I would guess.

There was only one TKO show this month, the next one is in February. Also, TKO has a tradition of holding their shows on Fridays, which make it eaier to avoir hockey nights. It's the same with the boxing card or any other show that they schedule during hockey season.
