It would cost $120 or $150 in HD to see those fights over a 3 month span, while with the Affliction card you spend 40 or 50 and see them all in one night. I understand what you're saying as far as Affliction only having one card every three months, but as long as it's a stacked card like this one then I'm fine with it. I will fill my remaining months with the UFC's cards with only one or two good fights on them.
Just my opinion

Good post.
Myself, in a PERFECT world, I would like 8 stacked cards per year in one Org and nothing else. The reality is that the UFC is trying to do 12 cards PLUS make money. Affliction is trying to do 3 cards and has no idea if it will make money.
People wanting the UFC to do a super stacked card every time don't understand business. The goal for the UFC is to be a long term money making company. They have found the model to do that. Affliction is trying something new, but we have no idea if it will work long term. (Which is fine by me, I'll spend my $50 on the PPV and support it while it lasts.)
(Also, this ignores the fact that UFC is just as good as Affliction in many peoples eyes. The match-ups and talent are amazing in both cards.)

Valid point, but UFC just has a different business model right now. I don't mind paying for a PPV since we usually rotate it with 4-5 people, so I'm seeing the top fights plus an undercard. I like that UFC gives us a PPV every month and I like that Affliction is putting on this awesome card.

I think it's time for a new nickname for Andrei. From now on as far as I'm concerned, he shall be known as Andrei "TBA" Arlovski.

i don't expect the UFC to change a thing. They are making money hand over fist and that's what the business is about. I would be happy with 4 stacked cards a year (at the end of the quarters) and the rest can be just like the cards are now. They have a big enough fighter stable to do so. Most of the big names are only fighting twice a year anyway, why not have them fight 3 times a year? That's just from a fan's perspective, I understand that big names cost them more money and if they only fight twice a year then that's less money being paid out to the big money fighters and fans like myself will still pay for them, so I don't blame the UFC for what they are doing, but I would like to see better matchmaking by Joe Silva
