Why casual MMA fans love Kimbo so much

Casual fans are more interested in Kimbo than they are in Fedor because I think most casual fans want to be Kimbo much more than they want to be Fedor. They want to look huge, not train MMA 7 hrs a day, still be a badass and show up in peoples backyard in an Escalade with some bitches, beat some strangers ass and leave. And then post it on Youtube for the world to see.

Most people dont want to be a Russian who speaks little english and trains 7 hrs a day and looks like a stay puff. I think most people would rather be a badass like Kimbo without doing all the work to earn it like Fedor does. The fact that Kimbo has got this far with very little training just by being a badass makes people feel like they could get off the couch and kick some ass.

People know theyre not gona wake up tomorrow and be Fedor. They have a much better shot at being Kimbo with little to no training, an Escalade and a video camera. Im of course talking about his youtube days which is why he is so popular.

Alot of people I watch with just want to see a boxing match. I would much rather see a technical ground game. Just depends on what you find exciting.

No...they wouldn't want to see a BOXING match. They want to see bum-fight styled brawling.

I don't think being an "avid" or "knowledgeable" MMA fan and liking Kimbo, or bum fights, are mutually exclusive.

People are taking themselves too seriously. And people need to stop with the rigid classifications.

I've watched MMA for about 6 years now...trained a little. I don't know everything about it at all, but I know much more than a "casual" fan. I find the Kimbo story interesting. I want him to do well, even if I wouldn't bet money on him. I don't think people should be afraid that Kimbo is bad for the sport. If he keeps losing he will fade into obscurity....If he wins, well then there is nothing wrong with that.
