Is this really necessary?

I was just watching the Serra v. Hughes TUF season that I Tivo'ed on Saturday. It always seems kind of funny that they actually have ring card girls at the TUF fights. Not that it effects anything but am I the only one that thinks that having them there is completely unnecessary? Seems kind of pointless. Probably not as pointless as this thread...lol.

Drop the ring girls, it seems a bit silly for TUF. Replace those few seconds of panning to the ring girls and insert some more coaching interaction prior to the fight or in between the rounds.

But I guess if some kid is surfing and sees a hot-chick in a two piece walking around with a card, he will stop for a second and watch. Get hooked on the show and think "I can be a TUF guy too!!"

Yeah...I know its all about "product" placement and veiwing numbers, marketing...etc., it just seems real weird to me. Hey, I like a fine chic in a skimpy outfit as much as the next guy...it just doesn't fit the atmosphere of the show though.
