Shoulda Coulda Woulda's

Fighters who the UFC missed out on having on TUF:

Bobby Lashley (4-0) - Former WWE star with a very impressive physique and is soft spoken, easy to hype
Todd Duffee (5-0) - Intimidating physique and tons of potential
Rolles Gracie (3-0) - Member of the legendary Gracie family making him easy to sell
Roger Gracie (2-0) - Member of the legendary Gracie family and possibly the best grappler in the world
Daniel Puder (8-0) - Former WWE star and comes off as a bit cocky and arrogant would make for drama and hos a ton of potential
Ray Sefo (2-0) - Former K-1 star could have some vicious KO's, or get dominated on the ground
Stefan Struve (18-3) - Standing at 6'11 alone makes him memorable to casual fans, not to mention he has a ton of potential

Kimbo didn't need to be the only star on TUF 10 and there are definitely more heavyweight prospects out there.

well stefan struve was already in the ufc at the time so it would have been strange to have him in there, and both the gracies and bobby lashley wouldnt really need to go thru TUF that woulda went strait 2 the ufc...

Todd Duffee is the owner of the fastest knockout in UFC history(yes... He is in the UFC) and you want him on TUF?
Bobby Lashley has already said more than once that he wants to build up his career and gain some experience before going to the UFC.
You should get updated, man.

Lashley was signed with a promotion and could not do it

Duffee was already signed to the UFC and was slated to fight durring the Production even

Neither Gracie actually showed up to any of the TUF tryouts

Puder doesn't want to be a fighter anymore, he bought into a small promotion and wants to be a manager now

Sefo honestly has no business in MMA, no ground game at all and honestly not much of a draw

Struve was signed to the UFC long ago and was already slated to fight on a UFC card

Also the show has Nelson, Sims, Shivers, Jones, and numerous other big names on it besides Kimbo...Hardly what I would call the "only" big name there.

Really??? I thought the "star" power of this season was strong. Rampage is a one-liner machine. Rashad is super-cocky.

Kimbo is surprisingly such a nice guy, and great on camera. Wes Sims, a MMA vet and great on camera. Roy Nelson is a well respected veteran himself. Through in 2 ex NFL athletes and some guys with unknown potential, how can you be complaining??

oh boy Roger Gracie on TUF...

reminds me of Vinny being on TUF 8 and even Frank Mir was nutthugging his Jits, except Roger is possibly one of the best active grapplers of our time

Lashley was considering it though so I'm sure Dana could have got the deal done.

They started filming around UFC 99-100 right? Duffee was removed from his fight with Al Turk at 99 for Cro Cop so Dana could have asked him to be on TUF instead.

The Gracies don't really need to try out IMO, UFC should have went after them.

I didn't know Puder's exact dedication to fighting but he has fought recently in 2009 I believe so I figured he was maybe back into fighting.

Sefo seems like a pretty likeable guy at least and a good striker with no ground game would hopefully make for a big KO or slick sub or a TKO for the opponent, exciting fight at least. He is likely too old but I just put him on there for the hell of it, I doubt they thought Sims was gonna make a big impact by returning either.

Struve was coming off the lost to JDS and could have been offered the spot like Wessel and Junk.

People don't seem to like Nelson at least casual fans I've talked to, but he would not be the one getting booted to replace any of these guys anyways. Sims is mildly entertaining sometimes but not a big name to casual fans and Shivers isn't much of a name either. Jones I would definitely keep on, he is an awesome guy.

The only thing I have heard from casual fans I know is.. "Kimbo's coming back this episode." thanks to the constant teasers on the commercials. Nothing about any of the guys you mentioned as big "stars". Anyways this is once again just me writing down a random thought of what I would have liked to see, I know it is not very likely to have happened. One or two of these suggestions could have made for some memorable moments and likely better fights though.

Duffee hadn't fought in the UFC before the show began taping but was signed before so I'm sure they could have negotiated something to get him on TUF. Granted he wouldn't have gotten that KO so it was a good decision on his part and the UFC's but they didn't know that at the time.

Lashley has said that but before that he was strongly considering TUF if I remember correctly. I am perfectly up to date thanks to mmajunkie and bloodyelbow.
