The point of TUF 4?

As much as i have enjoyed the show and the fights, what exactly will we get out of this?

Even though the last shows the fighters werent as talented as the guys we are watching now, they were new talents that have been slowly molded into solid fighters and future stars.

these guys are not going to change their styles or learn anything new. not only that but nomatter how good they look in the show, once they fight for the belt it will be a lopsided mismatch. None of them really stand a chance.

perhaps that is why the ratings for this one is a lower than the last seasons. What is the point of this season?

The premise is solid: Provide veterans of the biggest org. in North America, thereby eliminating shitty unproven fighters with no cage experience, at the same time, these guys should be desperate to re-prove themselves and get back in that cage, especially for the title shot. So, lots of fireworks and awesome fights, with every fighter showing a better workrate than the last three seasons' fighters, right?

Wrong. I now know why a lot of these guys weren't invited back. I wouldn't say this season so far has been a huge backfire, but I'm pretty sure that Dana didn't expect it to go quite like this.

Positive note: Serra/Spratt, Rivera/Cote(maybe?), and Shonie may still be able to save this season.

i think the overall point of the show is to take some fighters...some of which arent really on the comeback trail so much as younger fighters that were in the UFC previously and give them a chance to become names...so that they are marketable.

look at fighters like scott smith, charles mccarthy, pete sell, patrick cote, etc....they have been there for a fight or 2, but now with some exposure they will become marketable for future shows. it doesnt matter who wins this show...its all for boosting up the names of fighters they want in the UFC anyway.;
