For people who got into MMA from TUF...

What was the first episode you remember watching that got you into MMA? For me it was Season 1, When Southworth fought Bonnar.

When i was younger, I remember watching UFC 8 when Kimo fought Ken Shamrock but I didnt know what it was at the time.

Then TUF rolls around, and I was flicking through the channels and happend to catch the beginning of the Southworth/Bonnar episode. I got hooked ever since. Even after TUF episode ended and the Finale came, I always thought Ken Shamrock was top dog just because when he was with the WWF (WWE), they made it seem like he was. I remember seeing Chuck and Randy as the coaches and thinking "man Ken would whoop both their asses" then when I saw Ken get derailed by Franklin...i was like whoa..wait a minute.

What was your guys first TUF episode?

I have an image of a drunk Chris Leben with his red hair wrecking doors as my first TUF moment and first primary MMA moment.

I'd seen MMA a good many times prior to becoming a fan, starting with UFC 1. Then UFC 7, where Shammy got a draw. To be honest though, I got hooked by UFN 1. Before that all I'd watched was KOTC. Since then I've tried to play catch up, but UFN 1 WAS a hellacious night of war. Replying to this thread I suppose will forever brand me, but who cares?

Well TUF is what got me into MMA...Long story...Played hockey for 9 years...Moved to Arkansas and there was no hockey when I was staying...So I needed something to keep me busy...Well I was working at wal-mart and got the first season on dvd...HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS...I watched the whole season in one night...I was hooked...

The next week I found a gym and started doing some kickboxing and a little BJJ...

I was hooked...

Well props to those of you who admit being a fan from TUF. I know most people on here make out like they have been a fan since the beginning, but I know most are lieing about it.

I dont see a problem with being a fan from TUF, hey...you have to start somewhere.

After I finished watching the season I went and bought UFC 47 DVD, and thats how I became a Chuck fan.

I'm an original TUF 1 fan.

I remember watching both The Contender and TUF and getting into combat sports as a legit fan.

I don't remember the first specfiic episode, but I never saw the first episode(s) where there wasn't a fight - I never knew such a thing happened until the TUF finale (or the next UFN) until I saw Sanford and Thacker have their respective matches.

First fight I ever watched the whole thing was Leben-Koscheck in season 1. I started watching the episode and was interested to see the tension play out in the ring. I've been hooked since then.

I didnt start from TUF.

but I was always into martial arts since bruce lee and power rangers. Took up TKD at 12 and did that for a few years on and off.

Then I found sherdog and started watching some highlights of various guys like Royce, Saku, LeBanner, etc and I got hooked. I knew of the UFC but I never actually watched it.

Then I rented some tapes, and then quit TKD for Muay Thai.

And now Im very close to starting BJJ finally. Found a nice gym nearby that's actually affordable.

My first episode of TUF wasn't until season three. I was watching an episode of Unleashed (I think?) on Spike and they were showing the Bonnar - Griffin fight. After that I was hooked.
