People think Scarola was bad???
At least Scarola stepped in there with Mac, fought, and lost.....THEN decided he didnt want to be there....but at least he didnt walk out without fighting! Joey would've SCHOOLED either one of the guys that Arroyo beat! If Arroyo's BJJ was enough to win those two fights then we know Joey wouldve beat those guys even faster.
Now you have Matt who FAKED an injury to get out of fighting Mac....that is chicken shit right there! Now Bowman tells us they had a meeting when Dana told the fighters and coaches that nothing was wrong with Matt.......YET they dont air that for the public to see??
I dont understand the TUF producers!!! They make a guy like Joey look like a bitch because he wanted to leave AFTER he fought but they protect a guy like Arroyo who flat out gave up like a P*SSY! The only reason they did that was bc Arroyo is could sell some tickets because he made it to the semi's so they didnt want to make him look bad! What happened to Dana's rule "if you quit you will never fight in the UFC"
Anyway....I think its bullshit that TUF portrays things exactly how they want to. I just hope Arroyo gets bashed HALF as much as Joey did.

We have conflicting information, so we really don't know what happened 100%.
1) On the show, Arroyo says he has a cracked rib.
2) On the show, Dana calls him a quitter.
3) On Hughes blog, he says that doctors did not find anything wrong with Arroyo.
4) Bowman, in this forum, says that Dana told everyone that Arroyo wasn't injured.
5) Arroyo is given a chance to fight at the finale.
6) MMAjunkie.com posted a brief interview with Arroyo that seems to confirm a serious injury.
Now, there is good evidence either way that Arroyo was faking or he was really injured. Based on what we saw of his personality, he didn't seem like a quitter.
I think the most likely scenario was that the injury is serious. It was serious enough that he no longer felt capable of putting on a good performance against Mac, who he knew very well was the superior and more experienced fighter.

Granted....but do you think its fair that Joey gets shit on while he fought then left, but Matt was afraid to fight the guy Joey fought??
I personally dont understand the fear of fighting Mac. I def think Mac is better than me...he is more well-rounded but I would NOT be scared to fight him! I dont think he is a damaging 170lber! He wins by technique not strength! Id MUCH rather fight Mac than Tommy! Arroyo is a punk! And I really liked him up unitl last nights show!

different motives. would still like to hear arroyo's side, but he had an injury despite how severe it was. he probably felt the fight was tough enough and didn't want to risk serious injury. half puss, but understandable (if you've ever trained before). fighters pull out of fights all the time due to injuries. joey just flat out turned bitch once he lost (via insanely slow telegraphed triangle, nice job blackbelt) and wanted to leave instantly. he most likely would've been offered the fight with danzig when arroyo backed out. atleast arroyo finished 2 fights and stuck around to help his teamates throughout.
joey never wanted to be there, wasted a spot talking about how his whore girlfriend is going to cheat on him. sounds like a great girl and a great reason to throw a lifechanging experience out the window. prolly damaged his friendship with serra during the process.

arroyo was hurt ... he had a valid reason not to fight . he didnt turn down getting experiance and training from the welterweight champion of the world and seeing how the ufc works on the inside ... he was hurt and said that he didnt feel comfortable fighting , he s young and it could ruin his carrear ..
joey had the opportunity of a lifetime , lost , then wanted to sook about it and left an organization that was willign to give him a chance

Arroyo left because of a bum rib (the severity is debatable).
Joey left because he got worked in the ring and felt that a girl was more important than a potential career in MMA.
Do I really need to paint the picture any further?
