Ken shamrock was always better than bas rutten...*GIF*

Bas rutten is considered one of the best fighters ever and many people on this site claim he would destroy people today. Ken Shamrock is widely considered a can, even in his early days.... go figure

Whats with all the Bas bash recently? True, he is overrated, but what popular fighter ISN'T? Bas has gained a lot of fans with his colorful personality and how he used to post here a lot, naturally people are going to like him more and that would result in people putting him up on a pedestal.

I remember his last fight in the UFC, he sure didn't win it and believe me before I watched it I thought Bas dominated for the decision, but Randleman dominated and Bas won, Wtf?

That was one of the first MMA fights I saw. To this day I still know Bas lost that fight.

It does kinda piss me off that all these TUF newbs only remeber Ken as the guy who got destroyed by Tito. Ken is one of the GOAT. He was a monster in his prime.

Yes he was the monster who was one of the first crosstrained fighters in an ocean of one dimensional fighters. Bas would own him nowadays imo.

Cool GIF. If Shamrock had retired before 2005, he would get a lot more respect today.

Nice gif - hadn't seen that one. Had thought was going to see that classic knee bar Ken put on Bas and damn near ripped his leg into two pieces.

THis is a cool thread, that was obviously put in this forum by mistake. I'm tempted to remake it in the heavies.
