Just how many fighters has TUF brought in
Season 1: Forrest (A), Bonnar(C), Swick(B), Diego(A), Ken-flo(A), Leben(C), Quarry(C)
Season 2: Stevenson(B), Davis(C), Guillard(C), Rashad(A), Jardine(B)
Season 3: Bisping(B), Hammil(B), Grove(C), Herman(C)
Season 4: Rivera(C), Cote(B), Lytle(C), Serra(C)
Season 5: Diaz(B), Hil(C)l, Maynard(A), Miller(C), Lauzon(B), Wiman(C), Emerson(D), Manny (WEC-A)
Season 6: Danzing(C), Saunders(B), Sotiropolis(?)
Season 7: Dollaway(C), Cramer(D), Riddle(C), Creduer(B), Saddolah(C), Brown(B)
Season 8: Bader(B), Nover(C), Escudero(B), Marshall(D), Nelson(D), Lawlor(C), Kystoff(C)
Season 9: Johnson(C), Pearson(B), Winner(C), Wilks(C), Osipzak(C)
TUF imo, has been mostly about giving us depth for the undercard, which I think it has, along with a few stars along the way.

it creates different storylines/backgrounds
some fighters are the old guard, we know them because they are the big personalities or they beat big personalities
TUF is a clever way to care about watching the new blood climb
i think it's awful early to evaluate Season 9 guys
and i think it's preposterous to call Eliot Marshall a D level fighter... just stupid
and i wouldn't call Wiman or Lytle a C level fighters either
and a lot of the time it isn't about creating 'the next big thing' it's about creating fodder... people who started watching around TUF 3 might've become fans of Hamill, Bisping or Grove... they might've picked them to win the show and they did... then these fans think they'll do well in the UFC proper... and they get to watch Bisping get KTFO by Hendo (and learn about Hendo) or see Bones manhandle Hamill (and they see a rising star)
i think it's still doing a relevant service: of making the new guys, the undercard guys, into known fighters when they would be anonymous

KOS from season one as well, who I would put only second to Forrest as far as STAR power, but definetly ahead of Forrest as relates to where he is in his respective division.

Emerson knocked out Manny in 12 seconds, how is he considered a d level fighter and Manny is a A level fighter. I think they're both B or C fighters.
Swick has lost twice in the Ufc both to decisions. I'd say he's an A level fighter. He stand with anyone and has beat alot of top copetition,

If Krys beats Bonnar he is officially a B level fighter. He'll be in Undisputed 10 but not as a Canadian.
We need more Canadians! Hopefully Bocek represents again, that was a solid surprise.

Manny is an A level fighter in his new weight class in the WEC.
I completely forgot koschek.
and this is how I graded. I gave an A if one more good win could get you a title shot, a B if you needed at least 2, a C if you needed 3-4, and a D if you needed 4-5.
thats why people like wiman and lytle are c's, they have names, but wiman still needs another good win to even get him telivised on a ppv. as for elliot, he has 2 wins, one a disputed decision over vinny, which wasn't shown to anybody, and 1 over jules.....yea. hes got a ways to go.
thats a grading of where i feel they fit in the UFC, not MMA overall

ah
you were using the terms way differently than most then
usually it pertains to skill level, not distance from title
