He took Kimbo's best shot and barely flinched. Kimbo couldn't KO James Thompson, let's not forget. Hell, he couldn't KO that one dude in his first backyard video. He fucked his eye up but never put him away and that was bareknuckle. Look how many flush shots Sean Gannon ate from him. Kimbo's power/chin is average at best.

Juggo, you earn that title voice of reason. I've been saying for a long time here that Kimbo is even more over rated (if that's possible) than people realize, because even people that knows he's never going to be a contender still make ignorant comments "well, all it takes is one shot"... No it doesn't, Kimbo is no Rampage or Carwin. Combine his MMA and street fighting career and he has no knock outs. He's not good at any aspect of fighting at all.

Seriously Kimbo sucks, and now people are overrating him cause of how low the talent is this season. TUF 10 is terrible for the advancement of MMA.

the closest thing Kimbo has to really dropping someone was Tank
and from what I'd read Tank trained by drinking beer
it's mindblowing how people think Kimbo has Liddell-esque power in his hands
and then there's Bo Cantrell's "I'm sick and still lead into the cage, omg he's attacking me, I'm gonna dive for safety"
and JT who often lasts seconds before getting KO'd

i disagree
Kimbo lost in round 1
and the guy that fought him successfully employed a strategy where he was pretty much guaranteed to win without injury
Kimbo was bait for mainstream folk

Dana doesn't care if he gets it or not. As long as Dana makes money he doesn't care if Roy loses an arm or a leg...as long as Roy puts on a show to put money in Dana's pocket, he's a happy camper. Roy made the smart move.

Maybe. But why risk getting knocked out or even hurt enough to take you out of the competition or training?

Agreed on everything except the last line.
You have to give Kimbo some measure of credit. He certainly has respectable hands (by MMA standards), decent head movement and the right mindset/heart for fighting. But yeah, other than that, pisspoor TDD, seemingly no jiu-jitsu off his back (gives up position like he's never heard of the concept of the guard), questionable cardio, very limited striking arsenal and the aforementioned average at best chin and punching power.

Putting on a boring performance in what was bound to be the highest rated fight in his life is not too smart. Neither is being such a douchbag that Dana White has open disdain for you. Not too smart when you look at it in another light.

/Jimmy Needles' annoying Rampage/Kimbo claims
Kimbo has to choose one of two options in order to be successful:
A) engage in sanctioned boxing matches against mixed martial artists (because, let's face it, the level of boxing in this sport is terrible in 97% of the sport's population)
B) engage in sanctioned MMA bouts against boxers (let's presume his grappling skills are better than those of untrained strikers)

There's some LHW in the UFC that punch harder than Kimbo....
His power is about 1/2 of what you and most McDonald employee thinks...
