Andre Winner talks about TUF Finale loss

Quote:
Coming off a disappointing unanimous decision loss at The Ultimate Fighter Finale Andre Winner was left scratching his head. The fight could have gone either way but ultimately the judges gave the fight to Ross Pearson. ATO recently caught up with Winner and got his thoughts on the fight.

I saw you doing interviews together while the show was airing was it difficult to hang out with Ross knowing you had to fight him?

It was not a problem to hang out with Ross even though we had to fight each other soon. It was a little strange because you cant be as open about your fight as you would be normally.we have hit each other many times before, this time it would just be for something more important.

I could have done without the excuses at the end.

Who cares? Both guys looked shitty with weak ass striking and hurt my head to watch clinch game that they couldn't resist getting into.

It was a close fight between two decent fighters

In fairness its hard to see either of them doing much in the UFC

yeah, no he didn't. They both kept going for the clinch and not doing shit..I almost stopped watching it a few times but forced myself to sit through the snorefest.

Yeah, anytime you spend 90% of the fight with your back against the cage, I would be hard pressed to call that "looking great". Neither fighter took any legitimate damage until late in the third round.
The Brits are great strikers, but for the love of god LEARN TO TAKE SOMEONE DOWN!

I have to agree, neither of these guys looked like they were putting 100% into this and going for a finish. I don't wanna say it's because of the friend factor or whatever, but it certainly seemed like it. I thought their fight was the second most boring one of that night, next to Dildo vs. Stevenson.

Ross didn't have that much trouble taking down Ritchie Whitson on the show, what with his Team Quest, Henderson taught wrestling you'd think Winner would be much easier to take down.

Sorry guys, you've never given the other TUF winners this little credit and this much abuse, your vehement denial that you have anything against people from the UK is looking like a pretty transparent lie.

yes they're new, yes they are unproven, they could still be the future of the division and there's no way to know. Do we have to go through this -again-?
