PREDICTION:
Anderson Silva will win by knockout. I see this fight reminscent of his fight with Carlos Newtown...he was losing to Newton rather convincingly in the first round, but Silva managed to survive the round. Carlos Newton attempted to take him down in the second round and got a mouthful of knee (got knees?) and it was nighty night, don't let the bedbugs bite....i see this happening with the relatively cautious Marquardt. He clearly won't stand with Silva (hell, a statue won't stand with Silva), and will be forced to try and take the fight to the ground, and IF he doesn't submit Silva in round one, which he won't since Silva is brushing up on his Jiu-Jitsu with Noguera in Brasil, his takedown attempts will get a little more desperate in round 2, and then badda-bing, badda-bang, Silva will deliver more elbows and knees than you can shake a stick at- and maintain his title....take this one to the bank youngings....Silva will eventually get beat, but not this weekend, and not by Nathan Marquardt....take this one to the bank, i know what i'm talkin' about over here..

i honestly have no idea who will win this fight. i like marquardt a ton, he's a technician and he's so talented, but unfortunately being 'cerebral' in fights can get a little boring, and at this level it's bound to be a snoozefest. or maybe not.
silva on the other hand is just so fucking deadly striking. i'm hoping so bad that we see at least a couple of rounds of mostly banging. i dunno, silva is just so slick. that elbow against fryklund and the kick from guard he gave okami are sooo deathish. i think for the most part his lack of wrestling skills is a small hole in an otherwise killer skill set, but against a guy like nate i'm thinking the size of that hole increases quite a bit.

I think Silva stands a decent chance of losing compared to any of his previous UFC fights, but I really want to see him defend his Belt yet another time. His fights are always exciting to me.
