The sad thing is, 185 is probably the most top-heavy division outside of the UFC, other than HW.

Lawler, Kang, Filho, Lindland, Frank, Trigg, Misaki.

It isn't as deep as maybe LW or WW, where it is really tight from like 5-20 with guys who could legitimately contend for #1 within a year. But all 5 of those guys could be legit #1 contenders (with the exception of maybe Kang).

Joe Lauzon went on TUF with a UFC record of 0-1, Gabe Ruediger went on TUF with a UFC record of 0-1. Those are the only guys I could think of off the top of my head with UFC experience (excluding TUF4 where the point was to bring back UFC vets).

What the hell was that Reff doing in that Jeremiah Riggs fight.
Looked like he was trying to put a mouthpiece back in, but he was not looking after the fighter getting choked out at all. Kid had to bang on the canvas to get the reffs attention.

Great thread TS

Didn't Joe beat Pulver in the UFC before that?

There is no way in hell Lawler, Trigg, or Misaki are legit #1 contenders. They are all very strong, but are in noway at the top of the heap.
Also, you forgot Akiyama. He is more deserving than the four I just listed.

Lauzon was 1-0. Also, Matt Wiman was 0-1 (Losing to Fisher by KO)

Rich and Yves both have very very slick BJJ. Rich has won alot of No Gi BJJ tourneys.

Belcher and Bradley are slowly-but-surely developing their ground game. But last time I checked, Belcher was training his BJJ with Helio Sonneca.
