Screw slavery and seceding. Both needed to go.

But the beef over states rights vs an ever-stronger Central govt was important. We now have a Federal govt that has usurped power so badly that it in no way resembles the intent of the framers.

The Genie cannot be put back into the bottle, as no one will ever give power back. The Federal govt will only get stronger, and the states and local municipalities will have less and less power.

Man please its not a shame at all. But Its was put into my head by many, many juvenile rednecks growing and their smart ass rascist comments.
