#1 is false.

The Taliban actually ordered the poppy fields to be cut down in the months (Jan 2001) before we invaded them, which resulted in a reduction of 90% of Afghanistan's heroin, and considering at that time that Afghanistan was producing 70% of the world's heroin, that would have been the largest reduction in heroin production in history, at least since the creation of the DEA.

Only the areas under the control of the Northern Alliance still had poppy field. Since we invaded, the US backed Northern Alliance are the one's who replanted the poppy and are now having record crops.
