Why is being for the war when it started and being against it now a 'flip-flop'?

Obviously, a lot of new evidence and circumstances have come out since the start of the war.

The evidence was questionable from the beginning, but the evidence does get more questionable as time goes on.

No i think if you were for the war at the start your were very naive, especially against UN evidence. Seriously the government started hype and if you feel for it even though there was conflicting evidence from PEOPLE ON THE GROUND IN IRAQ you should not be trusted to run a country as in the case of Tony Blair and John Howard

Obviously not a flip-flop. The war has been going, and has to end sometime. Extend the logic...unless we blow the shit out of Iraq until the end of time, are we flip-floppers?

Even being against HAVING goone to war is nothing more than a product of hindsight. Sucks that politicians can't change their mind without being harrassed, rather than asked to explain their logic.

In terms of elected officials. We put trust in them to examine the issue from all perspectives to form an educated decision. This case the previous didnt happen. Public opinion formed their views to ensure political gain. Flip flop isnt the proper term.

Flip-flops

Depends on the specific issue, depends on whether the person changed his/her mind for political expediency or whether they truly had a change of heart based on new facts.

On the war, it was a total scam from the get go. Politicians like Hillary supported it because they were currying favour with the NeoCon establishment & their supporters in both parties, the media and political contributors who backed NeoCon .

I guess last place goes to the idiots who still think the war was a good decision and good for america and that there is anything positive that can be achieved from the sacrifices of people, resources, and cash that have been invested in this fucking unproductive disaster.

The opportunity costs of this war are devastating to consider.
