Who Murdered the Virunga Gorillas?
Heavily armed militias shatter the stillness in this central African park. Desperate refugees crowd park boundaries. Charcoal producers strip forests. Then, last summer, someone killed seven of these magnificent creatures in cold blood.

Mountain Gorillas Eaten by Congolese Rebels
Quote:
Warning: This story contains a graphic image that may be disturbing to some readers.
Armed rebels have begun slaughtering and eating protected mountain gorillas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), conservationists reported this week.

There a few hundred gorillas left in the wild. It seems obvious that the civilized world has to take action to protect them. But the problem is the misconception that an average human there is more valuable than a gorilla (or tiger, in Asia) life. In fact, one gorilla or one tiger is worth millions of human lives.

they should make armor for the gorillas and send them to a 6 week training course, then let the 2 sides battle it out using futuristic laser weapons.

Actually, conservation of endangered species has absolutely nothing to do with a gorilla being > a human. It's got to do with protecting the gorilla from GOING EXTINCT!!
Are humans under threat of exstinction?

Probally someone who was willing to pay big bucks for magical gorilla parts. For strength and virility...or whatever else ails you---just name it the gorilla's (fill in the blank) will cure it. Better get the fresh stuff...it's more potentant and Virunga Gorilla parts are the most potent of all!
