I am trying to figure out if this thread is serious or not. I am sure the stimulus "helped". It better have. It was hundreds of billions of dollars. But was hundreds of billions of dollars worth just "helping" the economy so we could stimulate government projects?

I got an idea, why don't I go out and apply for a bunch of credit cards and max out each one? I'll buy myself a nice home entertainment center, top-of-the-line computer, furniture from the most expensive store I can find, and clean out the blu-ray and video game sections at Best Buy.
Think of all the jobs that will create with the people producing products for me. I'll also have a lot of nice things to enjoy.
Never mind the credit card statement that comes each month, I'll just pay it off by taking out more credit cards. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Fuck the long term plan anyways, I got some immediate temporary satisfaction I can enjoy.

I freely admited it was not perfect.
But China's stimlus pulled them out very quickly.

The title "When will Stimulus opponent finally admit they were wrong" makes it seem like you think that the stimulus was clearly and demonstratably effective, and it has been known to be so for a long time. How about we "finally admit" that it is way too early to know the full impact of the stimulus?

I do when that "biased source" is the white house. By their own projections the stimulus is a massive failure. Then unemployment levels they claimed the stimulus would prevent, have happened.

the graph in the krugman article came from the Netherlands.
The only real numbers in the graph you posted was unemployment and projected unemployment. The rest was bullshit

Ok, I guarrantee you thing will be better by Nov 2010, in fact they are already better then they were when Obama took office.
GDP and industrial production are both up, unemployment always lags, give some more time.

Up now =/= they will continue to rise. I was personally vehemently opposed to the stimulus package(s), but one thing I can admit is that this thing needs time to play out if we want to study it effectively.

Things are FAR from being fixed and I actually think it's just the beginning of our problems. This whole thing started back with Reagan and no way will be fixed by just pumping a few Trillions out.
The real scary thing with the GDP is the gap between the GDP and the national debt.

I'm all ears, please explain to me the "basic concepts" of why selling massive amounts of debt to China and spending money you don't have are good things.
