The best piece of commentary on the state of the democratic party came from an episode of the Daily Show a few years ago during the convention. They got together members of the democratic constituency (Black guy, feminsit, jew, gay, enviromentalist, union guy, etc) and then started asking them questions about the democratic parties position on different issues. It was hilarious to see how fractured they were.
