The war room has gone sufficiently downhill recently that I think we need a moratorium on one of its worst practices: Spamming the board with multiple new threads that link to an article and just make a mindless comment or two as an introduction.

This is a request for the mods to crack down a bit more on such war room spam. We don't need 5-6 new threads each day from the same poster railing against immigrants/Americans/Jews/Muslims/9-11 and so forth and linking to some lame-ass article.

One of the good things about the war room is that the mods are quite lenient on freedom of expression. One of the bad things is that they are too lenient towards brainless emotive spam. The spam is now starting to get a firm upper hand on things.

You make a very good suggestion, as this has always seemed to be an issue. The conflict I see is, where do we draw the line between free expression and spam?

A person posting an article might argue that while short, their comment was relevant. Just playing the devil's advocate here.

Very true. Just look at page one of the war room board right now. It is like vaj3k and flatline have some kind of competition going on for spam threads. Actually I take that back its not much of a competition anymore. vaj3k has left flatline in the dust concerning mindless posts.

I don't think there should be a content approach to it. And linking to articles is okay. It's when we get 4-8 links to articles a day from the same poster, over and over, generally on the same viewpoint, day in and day out, that it significantly degrades the quality of the forum.
