Isn't that a bit cruel?
Creating intelligent life but neglecting to include the soul? What if a bunch of aliens, despite being presumably soulless, are really into God and they're all, like, "Dude, we love you a LOT and we really, really wanna go to heaven! We'll do everything you demand to make it so."
But God is all like "Sorry, little grey dudes, but you were done fucked from the get go...see, I, uh, didn't give you souls. I could make it up to y'all. How about free iPhones for everyone?"
That sounds like a bit of a fuck-up.
Surely God doesn't do fuck-ups?

Not a matter of underfunding, we spend a lot of $$ we just are not efficient or creative.

I personally don't think Aliens would not have a soul if we did have souls.
Some people out there actually believe aliens are fallen/rogue angels. If that is true, I'm not so sure I'm eager to meet them.

Keep in mind that I don't presume to know all the ways of God. From my reading of the Bible, I understand that there will be all manner of creatures in Heaven, so I don't know if a soul is required to enter Heaven or not. It seems that man, who is the only creature mentioned to have a soul in the Bible, is also the only creature to be judged on whether they go to Heaven or not. Like I said though, only God knows.

I've heard this too. I guess that it's possible to fit some scripture around this theory, but who knows if it's true. I know I wouldn't want anything to do with aliens if this is true though.

well thats my point. more funding should go into the engineering aspect of making it more effecient but instead the funding is used to use obsolete and ineffecient technology. I believe the whole program should be completly re-organized. the science behind it all has advanced significantly since the 80's yet we still use the same technology.unmanned space exploration is no substitute for manned exploration.

It's not going to happen in our lifetime. It currently takes 7 years to get an unmannned vessel from Earth to Mercury. I don't really think that you guys are understanding how far we would have to travel. Plus we would have to be able to navigate through an asteroid belt.
