He's not telling them what to do, he's simply stated what they can do for us to trade and deal with them. It's their choice.

Come down here and say that. The best that I can promise you is a handgun and a 5 minute head start. If you make the Broward County line you'll live.

Whoa, slow down there.

Next thing, you'll be calling the President an "appeaser."

That view is changing though. There isn't even unanimity in the Cuban-American population in Dade County anymore. Not everyone supports the travel restrictions of only once every 3 years to visit family in Cuba.

The sanctions made sense when implemented and for years after that but we're living in a much different world now. The USSR has fallen and isn't supporting the Castros anymore. The dictatorship has been in place for nearly 50 years. I think its time to realize that the sanctions haven't the island of the regime.

I wonder why? It is so out of the blue. Perhaps the U.S. is finally going along with friendlier ties that S. Korea is having towards the North. Perhaps this is somehow tied in to China and Taiwain starting civilian filghts between the two countries. It show a thawing of sorts.

To me its just interesting when these things come out of the blue. So much goes on behind the scenes that we barely know about.

To me its a joke. It's a way for Bush to flex his muscles to Iran in a way where he can show he still has power to make drastic changes and if you obey his laws, he'll give you a treat.
I dont think Bush really cares about human rights violations.

He's prez of the US, not the world.
This is the kind of mentality that causes all of our freaking military to be somewhere other than here.

And he's not threatening embargo w/ Iran, he wants to destroy and overtake them. Just like Iraq.

I'm not very knowledgeable abut sanctions, but I'll give my two cents anyway.

No nation has any sort of "right" to trade with the U.S. We are free to trade or not trade with whomever we want. So, if we had sanctions against North Korea and we still have them against Iran, so what? Why are people like Jigga and others making it out like we are did something wrong? Somebody fill me in if I'm missing something.
