Uproar at British Comedy Awards: Madeleine and giant bear 'Mohammed' jokes

Glad to see some people in the U.K still have some balls (referring to the Moooohamud bear)....

Awards uproar as Ross makes Madeleine joke and Fern Britton calls giant bear 'Mohammed'

Jonathan Ross last night sparked controversy after he cracked a series of tasteless jokes at the British Comedy Awards.

The BBC chat show presenter fronted the ceremony which was recorded but may never be aired as a result of a phone-in scandal on previous shows.

He made light of the Portuguese investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance by saying votes had been researched with the same forensic attention as a "Portuguese police investigation."

Unbearable: Fern Britton joked about the ordeal of teacher Gillian Gibbons by naming a giant bear 'Mohammed'

And then joked about the recent ordeal of teacher Gillian Gibbons who was imprisoned in Sudan after naming a teddy Mohammed by saying organisers of this year's awards were "more nervous than the teddies at a Sudanese branch of Hamleys".

TV presenter Fern Britton went even further when she called a giant bear, which she brought on stage, "Mohammed".

Ross said: "Don't do that or they will kill you too."

Edgy? How?

They are almost as politically correct as the French.

Mohammad the Masturbating Bear.

British humor is anything but politically correct.

Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, Chappelle and Chris Rock would face hate crime charges if they presented their material in the U.K.

Sacha Baron Cohen is the only recent one that comes to mind, but most of his controversial skits were done in the U.S.

I just don't see how.

Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, Chris Rock, the Chappelle Crew and even Dice Clay didn't give a fuck.

Monty Pyton was great but they did not stir up as much shit like these guys have.

Almost forgot George Carlin.
