Tired of Yellow Ribbon Stickers
Is anybody else tired of seeing those yellow ribbon "support our troops" bumper stickers on cars? I am all about supporting our troops, but what the heck is this supposed to do? Do you think that an infantryman on patrol in Baghdad can see your car, let alone gives a crap about some bumper sticker? The worst is when I see it on a Hummer or SUV. Clearly, these people don't understand why our troops are over there in the first place. Save your stickers and buy a hybrid. If you really want to "support our troops," do this:
1. Only use them when ABSOLUTELY necessary.
2. Don't let politicians spend American lives for domestic political reasons.
3. Pay them! Many military families are on government assistance because their pay is low.
4. Don't let them be abused. Many guys are on their second or third tour in Iraq.
5. Increase the size of the Active Duty Army, so that we can support our increased needs.
6. Hold the executive responsible for a disastrous policy, and prevent their future mistakes.
People need to stop paying lip service to our Armed Forces, and put their votes and money where their mouths are. Buying a sticker doesn't make you patriotic, but action can.

The troops are not in Iraq because of the rate of domestic oil consumption. It's about controlling the international trade of oil.
But yes, that's a stupid slogan.

I laugh at cars that are just plastered with ribbons. It seems more like a hate vibe. I like the courageous people that put anti-war stickers on their cars, even though you can see where neo-cons try to tear them off. Nonetheless, they keep their meaning.

I like the bumper sticker that says, "Caution, this car may wreck or explode at any time."
Another favorite is "If you can read this bumper sticker you are driving way too fucking close."

Thats a damn good reason to own one. Buying the sticker is a good way of helping out and showing support for our soldiers for the average person. Not everyone can just go out and change the world. When soldiers come home and they see the support that the community gives them, it makes everything easier emotionally. It's the small things that count sometimes.

Remember last presidential election when those liberal goons tore the 'Vote Bush' poster out of the little 4 year old girl's hands and tore it up in front of her? She cried. Pics of it were on the news.
You probably don't remember because as a lib you have the attention span of a gnat and selective memory (a bad combo).
