Some interesting maps; your thoughts?

The overlaps are obvious, but I'm not trying to crap on just republicans here because there are still people who vote for democrats in the states with more obese and undereducated people (albeit less).
I can't really wrap my finger around why this occurs though. It's easy to say 'cause southerners are dumb rednecks', but there has to be more. Thoughts?
Are there policies in place that cause these behaviors, or conversely do you think there are policies that should be in place to deal with them?

edit: my last map sucked, will find another later.

What does that bottom map show? I can't read Predator.

It was a map by state with % of citizens having 12 or less years of schooling and no HS diploma. It sucked for viewing on a black background so I took it down.

This indicates to me that the government is drugging our fast food supplies.

Outside of the northeast and California, there was no correlation whatsoever between the two maps. The map also only shows who gained 20-25% v who gained >25%. A big margin but not a telling one.

Doesn't make me think about anything except that we are a bunch of fat-fat-fatty-fats.
