since voting in a Dem congress in 2006

Remember the election in 2006 when Dems took over congress?? In 2005...

1) consumer confidence stood at the highest level it had been in 2 1/2 years

2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet to an all time low

2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.00 a gallon;

3) Unemployment is up to 5%

4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;

6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it! REMEMBER.. it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing. The Tax Foundation - U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008. O'Bama will return to higher tax rates and will repeal the Bush tax cuts.

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Beleive the left=wing mainstream media? I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

Are you trying to say the Dems and not the Bush/NeoCon admin is most responsible for the current malaise?

I agree the Dems didn't do what was expected of them, namely to turn around the failed Bush policies. When you state that consumer confidence was the highest in 2.5 years prior to Dems capturing both houses, you are forgetting that the people were fed up with the Republicans and thats why they voted in the Dems.

FAIR is an extremely biased source for information on 'illegals;. They totally focus on and cherry pick for maximum negativity. Does FAIR take into account the Americans and corps who are holding onto more of their money by exploiting 'illegals'? Does FAIR take into account the 'illegals' who get a part of their already measly paycheck taken for SS but these 'illegals' won't ever claim SS.

When Bush decides to actually pass their legislation, call me and you might have an argument.

I am not arguing in support of the Dems because they were/are ineffective in changing the disastrous course of the Bush Admin . It was dissatisfaction and anger at the Repubs that got the Dems in so to make it seem like it was the Dems who really screwed up the country is not accurate.

What Obama and the dems represent to me is not some idealized savior-for-mankind Jesus-party that will turn everything around and compeltely reverse the disaster that Bush has created.

What they represent is an end to the madness. I dont necessarily expect them to do much good, but what I do expect is for them to do very little bad.

What McCain will do is head down the path of destruction while abiding by the "spend/kill/spend/kill" ethos of the modern-day Republican party.

Id prefer a party that does no bad and no good as opposed to one who continues with the bad.

Do you, in all honesty, believe that the Dems have made laws influencing consumer confidence, gas prices, or the housing market? Or that new legislation for illegal aliens was at all in the works prior to the Democratic majority? Or that Democrats, who won their insignificant majority in 2006, could somehow be held more responsible than Repubs for something that happened in 2005? If you answered "yes" or even "maybe" to any of these questions, kill your family, everyone you know, and then yourself. Oh, and make sure to off the dick that wrote this chain mail too.

...not that I favor this Congress, or any Congress before it, but to be utterly convinced that an impotent majority could be responsible for every slight grievance in this country is ludicrous beyond belief.

they are supposed to find good legislation in a bi-partisan manner and get it passed and approved by the president. they havent even come close on anything except the national budget and funding for the iraq war.

Let's not forget Bush's rubber-stamping yes-man veto-bitch in the Senate, Mitch McConnell.
