thank God for the "Bible Belt" ! as someone already posted in another thread
I'm against religion(but I do think that it has its advantages for some) btw, but the often extreme (in my opinion) Bible Belt is saving the U.S. from Scientology.

Refutation to the claim that Jesus was a pedophile,:

Jesus was NOT a pedo. there are no records of nething of the sort, and to suggest something like this is clearly wrong. Jesus was a great Prophet who healed the sick and whose message was to obey one God and live in peace with each other. There is no record of him having sexual relations with ANYONE, let alone children. He hasnt brought up any facts, historical records, biblical records (which i personally dont hold to be 100% accurate) so this ones really a weak attack, and the burdens on him to prove he's tellin the truth.

Refutation to the claim that Mohammad was a merchant who made up all his visions to increase commerce in his home town:

Muhammad lived a life of poverty from his birth as an orphan shepord to his death as a merchant.

1) He always urged the rich to give to the poor and spend in charity

In an agreed upon hadeeth, the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) said, "If I had as much gold as the weight of Uhud, it would not please me to have a single dinar out of it with me after the passage of three days, but I would hold back something for the repayment of a debt. I would distribute it among the slaves of Allah like this and like this and like this.'' And he (PBUH) pointed in front of him, and on his right side and on his left side. We then walked a little further and he (PBUH) said: "The rich would be poor on the Day of Resurrection, except he who spent like this and like this and like this,". and he pointed as he did the first time. "But such persons are few".

2) He had little to no possessions at the time of his death

`Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) died when my house was void of any edible thing except for a small quantity of barley I had on a shelf and from which I kept eating it for a long time. Then when I measured what was left of it, it soon finished. [reported Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

3) Even as Muslims around him grew rich, he stayed poor his whole life.

The following commentary is taken from the online version of Riyadu-Saleheen (considered one of his most authentic biographies) (Chapter 55):

During the last days of the Prophet (PBUH) the financial position of the Muslims had largely improved due to the spoils of war and he could have lived a comfortable life if he liked, but he stuck to the same austere life which he had led earlier. In this Hadith, `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) has related an account of the extremely austere and pious life of the Prophet (PBUH) although her house was the house of his most beloved wife.

This Hadith also tells us that in spite of his profound love for `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (PBUH) did not accord her any preferential treatment. He treated all his wives equally. Thus, this Hadith has a lesson for `Ulama' and their families that they should not look towards worldly riches and the amenities enjoyed by them but keep in view the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and his wives and learn to keep themselves contented with minimum income.

3) He purposely stayed poor and lived a very simple life and even PROMOTED giving up wealth to the poor in order to be rewarded by God after one's death

`Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) slept on a straw mat and got up with the marks left by it on his body. Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Would that you make us spread out a soft bedding for you.'' He (PBUH) replied, "What have I to do with the world? I am like a rider who had sat under a tree for its shade, then went away and left it.''
[At-Tirmidhi].

4) He was OFFERED money, power and women by the Quraish Tribe in order to stop his preaching of the religion, and he declined (multiple times)

In the first three years of Prophet Muhammad’s (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam) mission, forty people accepted Islam. He then began to preach Islam in public. The leaders of the Quraish did not accept the new religion. Some of them tried to bribe Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam) with money and power, including an offer to make him a king. But our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam) refused to abandon Allah’s message. When this did not work, they tried to convince his uncle, Abu Talib, to allow them to kill Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam). Therefore, his uncle tried to dissuade him from preaching. But Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam) said ” O uncle, if they were to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand to stop me from preaching Islam, I would never stop. I will keep on preaching until Allah makes Islam prevail or I die. ”

alternately

The pagans of Mecca had tried all the atrocities and cruelties on the Prophet and the believers, but failed to dissuade from Islam. So they called on the Prophet as a delegation and offered thar they can make him their king, give him all the wealth that he wants and also give him the most beautiful lady in his wedlock, but he should not propagate Islam. The Prophet replied:
"If you put sun on my one hand and moon on the other hand, to give up Islam I will not, until Allah fulfills it for me or destroys me in the process." (hadith)

So both these accusations are false and have NO proof whatsoever.

May Peace be on all of Gods Messengers.
Trying to take the subject off yourself like they do is a great way to defend themselves (which is a psychological warfare technique, instead of defending yourself, when attacked attack them back, do not get in a defensive position, getting in a defensive position already makes you the defendant and partly guilty), this is what they thrive off of and no matter if what they counterattack is incorrect, they already have an edge because they have forced you to defend yourself which is what they want

read the book "Black Science" it goes into all this stuff, most of Haha Lung's works are a bit looney but this book has stuff that is more scientific or stepping into the realm of psychology instead of "secret Ninja arts" or "hidden powers/supernatural" like his earlier books

Does Scientology behead people? Launch crusades? Burn women? Kill heretics? Suicide bomb?

If not, it's all cool.

I know Scientologists try and recruit people by saying you can better yourself through it's methods, but they also demand payment of something like $500 a session. Accordingly only a person who pays lots of cash can ever become "enlightened" through Scientology.

Do these people believe truthfully in their hearts that what they are doing is a bonafide religion?
now, first of all i am not biased against scientology. i am agnostic, so im not a blithering sputtering christian up in arms about "cults" and the like. however, i have read parts of dianetics (the bible of scientology) and ive researched this online as well because i was interested just like you. it was odd though. i never really identified any theology. i never grapsed the core of what they believe. i came to the same conclusion that the german govt did. this is what happens when you buy (literally buy) into a religion created by a science fiction writer. people will believe anything that they want to believe.

Scientology is fucked up. Just know that. It's not a question of being subjective anymore.

Well, you're comparing acts that either happened hundreds of years ago or happen in 3rd world countries.

If you want to get really, really angry about Scientology, watch this vid.

This is a re-mix of a CCHR, a human rights oriented front group for Scientology, spliced with real testimony of human rights abuses from former members:

Scientology exploits its followers, breaks all labor standards, and it's leader routinely beats his underlings

For more info on this, see:

David Miscavige (DM)

Quote:
[Excerpt, starting at 6m 30s] Well, from the time I showed up at Golden Era Productions in 1990, I had been there maybe a few months when I saw David Miscavige physically beat somebody up. And that was in 1990. So it’s not like this just developed over the past five years, there’s a pattern going on.

All the way up until I left in 2005 I’d say that I saw David Miscavige physically strike somebody or slap as you say or punch in the face, I’d say I witnessed myself at least thirty different occasions, myself. And I heard from other people second hand many more instances that occurred. That was the turning point was for me. In late 2004 I was walking through the main factory facility with David Miscavige and I had made a smart-alec comment in response to one of his questions, apparently he’d not had a good day already and my comment was not well received and he proceeded to unload on me.

He punched me in the face at least ten times and my glasses fell off, I was thrown up against a desk unit, a counter top, and that was the moment right then when I realized I could go no further down than this, to be beaten by the leader of my so-called church.

[Hear the whole show at Glosslip Radio]
This is only one of dozens of eyewitness accounts by ex-members that Miscavige beats people up that displease him. He's a veritable Jim Jones in the making.
Quote:
Hubbard put to sea with his closest followers in 1967. Aboard ship, anyone who displeased him was confined to the chain locker. Here the victim would crouch in bilge water and excrement in total darkness, surrounded by rats, sometimes for as much as two weeks without respite. Even children were put into the chain locker on Hubbard's order. In 1968, the chain locker punishment was -supplemented by "overboarding", where people, even non swimmers, were hurled from the decks into the sea.

In 1973, Hubbard replaced these cruel and unusual practices with a new and profoundly effective form of humiliation-the Rehabilitation Project Force, or RPF. The RPF is still in use in Scientology organizations throughout the world. Those who fail to comply with orders, make mistakes or simply fall short of their production quotas are put onto the RPF. RPFers can only speak when spoken to, they are meant to eat table scraps, sleep even shorter hours than other staff, and comply immediately and unquestioningly with any order. They work a full day, doing physical labour, and are then expected to spend five hours confessing and hearing the confession of their RPF partner.
Quote:
In the RPF you were labeled 'treasonous' and force to work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, and oftentimes received only 'rice and beans' and water. During this time I personally observed a person chained to pipes in the boiler room in the Fort Harrison building for a period of weeks. In the RPF I saw people screaming and crying during the constant 'auditing' on the E-meter. The E-meter is a lie detector used during auditing. RPF prisoners were forced to undergo 'auditing' in order to 'audit out' their evil purposes against Hubbard and Scientology. I cried virtually the whole time I was in the RPF.
More affadavits than you can shake a stick at right here: Scientology's Rehabilitation Project Force (RPF)
The RPF is still around, and there are RPF facilities at Hemet California, Clearwater Florida, and in Denmark for all European Scientologists, plus other locations across the US and reputedly in Australia. People are being "RPF'd" if they mess up in Scientology TODAY.
