Luba thinks the whole military is like his little stint of listening to Chinese for the Air Force doing jack shit.

He doesn't seem to realize that most of the military doesn't get a COLA, BAH doesn't cover everything, they don't get language pay, and they actually do shit like face danger.

The average newspaper journalist doesn't get paid as much as the average engineer. Both have 4 year degrees. You say the engineer doesn't get paid as much as the enlisted man. So what?

Life decisions are not based purely on financial benefits. Maybe 4 years in the military prior to college is the wisest decision. So what?

Luba - are you going to encourage your children to enlist?

What about going to a year of college and doing ROTC or going OCS?

if there is one thing i cant stand its people who bitch that someone else makes more fucking money then them, when most times that person has no direct influence over that persons salary

i see this shit at work all the time, one person realizes they are not getting as much as another and they then begrudge them for it

reality check, its not your fucking co-worker who writes the checks, its your fucking boss, go bitch to your fucking boss, its their fault, not the co-workers

in short lubelongcock, you should be complaining to the person who signs your checks, not us, and not fucking some army dude, give me a fucking break

The point is military members shouldn't whine and complain about what society owes them. They are getting far more than they are worth.

It would be no different than a janitor that cleans the office of a college professor that bitches about only getting 2x the professor's salary. DUDE you are already getting more than you deserve.

How much do people get payed when they are responsible for tens of millions of dollars of equipment?

How much when they are in charge of multiple teams of people?

Yes, a perfect example. A military officer with a useless degree in basket weaving (that might only earn him $30,000/year on the outside) will retire making $150k a year in the military.

I think when I was a student and running a large lab at my first university, I was paid whatever minimum wage was at the time.. $4.25/hour? I don't remember.

Uh, Colonels have to have at least their masters, are responsible for at least a thousand personnel, millions if not billions in equipment, have foreign relations experience, and most end up with political experience.
