You're are absolutely correct, gamblers don't pay for this service. I wasn't being too clear. What I meant was that they were "sold" on the idea that signing up for this service would protect them from themselves. But as far as I know, no casino would be forced to comply to such terms, so the self-exclusionary program, in my opinion, was feckless from the very start. Perhaps, it is different with provincially run casinos, but the article didn't say.

I think I was too harsh in suggesting that the gamblers sue the exclusionary program. I don't know the details of the services, but I can't imagine any guarantees were offered. Still, it appears as an extremely flawed program that offered false hope to troubled people. Ultimately though, the gamblers must take full responsibility.

Hell I'll be outside the courthouse waiting with a rigged 3 Card Monty table and some dice.

What the fuck. This thread made me lose all hope in Sherdog posters having any morals at all. Companies fail to uphold their part of a contract and that's the other party's fault? Jesus Christ, you people are either completely retarded or way too good at sarcasm.

Yeah, I think it is bullshit to sue for the money back, but the Casinos do need to be held accountable for advertising services that they weren’t following up on.
