Party Politics = FAIL

I don't understand this cult like loyalty to political parties. Why don't you folks think and decide for yourself who would be the best candidate for president?

In the US, until the two dominant ideologies of American people change, there will be no change in party division. Personally I would like to the libertarian party become a serious contender in elections, but I guess that libertarian doesn't reflect enough people's attitudes for it to warrant enough votes.

Just look at the people who post around here. I don't see anyone joining hands and coming together for a common cause. It's more like one guy pisses all over the next because they are set in their ideologies. Including myself.

If everybody could be conservative we wouldn't have these problems

Liberterian is how I would vote if they got more than 2% of the vote. Usually I vote democratic when it comes to the president because they don't sicken me as much as Republicans and their religious bs. But by no means to just vote for whoever is the democrat. Being from the Chicago area I know there are plenty of extremely shady dealings with that party!

Back in the 80s I saw this numb nuts on the news from Bumpkinville USA who just left the polls. When they asked who he voted for he just said "I dunno, whoever the republicans was". Was a pretty grim realization regarding the stupidity of mankind at a young age.

well if you really just want to make sure the government will get nothing done except for the important issue you should just vote for the presidential candidate who's party is the minority in congress.

Republican or Democrat, we can always blame the others instead of realizing that both parties should step it up by now.

For me it's not that I love Republicans so moch. It's that I can't stand the Democrats. I can't think of a single issue that I agree with them on....guns, taxes, abortion, homosexual "marriage", amnesty for illegals, fairness doctrine, Iraq war, offshore driliing, death penalty, socialist healthcare...these people are perennial fucking morons. In my mind the only way to effectively thwart them is to vote Republican. This is not to say that the Repubs don't have a moron or 14 themselves....but on the whole they are nowhere the marxist-socialists the Democrats are.

The ironic thing is that for all the loyalty people have to a certain party, nothing ever gets done to deserve that loyalty. People just keep on voting the same way they always have.

I understand not wanting to vote for the other party because the ideology is completely different, but continually re-electing the same politicians who make empty promises doesn't make much sense either.

I know around here at least people kiss politicians asses to get favors in fact my parents were just encouraging me to do the same. However that doesn't seem to be the case in party loyalties except within the party.

Basically it has to do with the party's ideology.

I think the Libertarians should win too Tete however people think they are nuts for wanting to take away SS and other government programs they personally use and like as well as the truly radical change they would bring and legalizing "evil" substances one can ingest.
