Haven't we already heard the same things said about Iraq? We're told that NK has nuclear weapons and long-range missiles and wants to destroy the US with them. We believe it because we think the sources are totally trustworthy. Or maybe we don't think we need solid facts because we can figure it out the truth without them. We think we have common sense, and that we know enough. We know we have the firepower to destroy anyone, and we're eager to use it (again). Just give us a reason, right?
I'm sure we're all hankering to get our hands on NK's vast resources and stable, well-educated, healthy population.

I don't know what the US government wants to do with NK or why they want to do it, but they clearly (to me) are bent on doing something drastic soon. I'm backing my statement with the events happening now. The US is priming us for an attack/invasion of some kind, IMO. Why else are they telling us they'll launch ballistic nuclear missiles at us soon? Even Iraq was "six months away from a nuclear bomb" just before we invaded. Iraq didn't have the ballistic missile story or the nuke test story either. NK is getting a much more dangerous and forboding description.

This has been my question all along. What does the US want with NK? I don't know, but I see a lead-up similar to the one preceding the invasion of Iraq happening now.

My lack of knowledge about the US governments motives doesn't change what I see. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think NK has nukes and I think the US government knows this. I don't think NK has anything but rudimentary missile technology, and the US gov't knows this too.

The last official US government statement I read about the latest alleged nuke test by NK was that NK "probably" detonated a nuke. This fact will soon be forgotten, if it hasn't already.

NK has been testing nukes and missiles for a while now. They aren't gonna do shit to the US and the gov knows it. Trying to play who has the bigger dick with the U.S. is suicide. It's a m.a.d. world we are living in. You ask, "What does the US want with NK?". The answer is for them to keep doing what they are doing. The u.s. gov needs some kind of boogeyman to scare people so they can continue to justify their massive "defense" spending and military expansion. The era of the U.S as an economic power is coming to an end. Countries are moving away from the unstable dollar. The only way the U.S remains relevant in the world is through military power.

It's highly unlike that the US will do something to NK. The US gov need NK. But if it ever happens, it won't be troops on the ground. It will be an all out nuclear assault. I say that because a) the US has nothing to gain from invading NK - no oil/resources b) the US cannot infiltrate their gov from the inside.

I will disagree.

China won't let us. We are China's bitch, as they produce our goods AND hold our debt, not the other way around. Plus China does not want the refugee's.

Also, your talking about WWIII. That would be the end of the Obamator...our economy + WWIII...no way. The american citizen cannot/will not stomach another war right now.

I believe you just said it. NK is launching missiles...Iraq wasn't....NK gets a worse picture painted about them.
