Middle East war affects the U.S... How?

Lets say this war in the middle east gets worse... How do you think it will effect the United States?

By inflation of gas prices if saudi arabia shuts off the valves which will cause nation wide panic?
Terrorists getting a hold of nukes and setting them off in the country?
Attacks from other countries?
U.S. kicked out of the U.N.?
A second cold war?

Or will the U.S. persevere as always?

I want to hear your thoughts.

Petro dollar and american hegemony in that region would be the most costly to us, if shit really went down hill. Supposing that a few opec countries get so pissed like Iran that they decide to dump the dollars wtf would that do to the oil markets?

Saddam made that mistake so we had to bitch slap him, we really can't do that to Iran, or the House of Saud or any of those big dawgs.

Edit

Oh and also if opec and the middle east starts to use PetroEuros as their currencies asia and china would probably dump our dollars which has the potential of really fucking us.

Someone said in another thread that if Saudi Arabia gets attacked they'll blow all their oil reserves... And when it comes to religion, some people are crazy enough to do it. And there are people that are even crazy enough to make them.

whoever said that you shouldn't pay them any attention. Look they are the closest financially linked country in the middle east that America does business with. No one would be dumb enough to attack them(countries that is) , Iran and Syria are scared shitless of them.

They are kinda like that stepdad that you know is bad, but your mom likes so you have to put up with them. Sure you know deep down that he is a loser, but your mom likes him and he sure is alot better than some of the other gems she has brought home. Its kinda like the lesser of two evils. Also you might have a arraignment with him that he takes you to movies on sundays or something

edit

WTF is a matter with me? COme on you guys have to give me credit that analogy really sounded impressive for a hot sec. Alot of you guys wouldn't have the balls to try and pull some shit off like that.

Why is being kicked out of the U.N. a positive?

And I'd think Isreal might have the balls to pull Saudi Arabia into this... If they keep fighting, the Saudi's said they'd be involved. All the Isreali's have to do is keep fighting.

ok quick timeout

1. Saudi Arabia isn't in this fight, they actually condemmed hezzbollah for the kidnappings which restarted this mess. They are have better diplomatic relations with Israel than just about everybody in the middle east

2. The countries who are the players in the ME are Syria, Israel, Lebanon, and Iran. Thats really who it boils down to. Eygpt has a solid peace treaty as well as jordan with israel. They in the beginning condemmed hezzbollah as well. Sure they don't want to see Israel take over southern lebanon again, but they are no way going to mix it up.

3. This isn't like the 60's bro where all of Israel's borders attacked her, we are talking about a few thousands militants in Lebanon who need to get their asses kicked. We aren't really talking about country vs country yet. If syria says the wrong shit i could see things get intresting, but no way also is israel going to attack iran.
