Who the fuck cares about "flip flops"?
Since when is adamant insistence on never changing your mind the mark of a quality leader or politican?
I fail to see why "flip flopping" has become a pejorative term that we are supposed to dislike. On difficult issues, changing your mind based on evidence is a GOOD thing. I deeply distrust people who never change their minds; they're either idiots or zealots, usually both.
If I as a lawyer never changed my mind about the best strategy/decision for a litigation, I'd be a fucking imbecile. You have to constantly reevaluate and analyze your options based on evidence and circumstances. Yet somehow when it comes to politicians, people insist that nobody ever change position. Idiocy.

I came to post what Zankou said.
Also, the government has no right to decide whether or not we can or can't have no-gi competitions.

In usual 'flip-flops', the position is changed either by new evidence or a different situation. For example, being for the war when it first started, but now against the war since there is evidence that the war is spiking terrorist recruitment. Or, being for military action in Afghanistan, but against military action in Iraq because the latter is not relevant to the war on terror. There was no situational nor informational changes during the course of McCain's flip-flop on the GI-Bill. McCain was vehemently opposed to the bill a few weeks ago, and a few weeks ago he had all and the same information about the bill as he does now.

This new GI Bill is about the best fucking thing ever. It will give me up to like $90k for school, plus pay most of my mortgage for the whole for years. Epic.
