or

Corporations being controlled by the gov't

Governments have legal authority to use guns to back their goals and competition to a government is strictly illegal. Governments are worse by far.

Would you prefer to have corporations controlling that gov't?

Or would you prefer to have the gov't controlling the corporations?

government controlled by corporations is a much more ominous scenario (and one that is perhaps being played out as we speak?)

To me corporation = group of people. I have absolutely no issues with a group of people doing anything so long as the government isnt protecting them.

But the interests of a corporations isn't the people or even the people running it. It's to create externalities and maximize shareholder profits. This often comes at the benefit of the corporation and detriment to the citizens.

We want a the people to control the gov't. But corporations have some personhood and very powerful lobby groups. The gov't passes regulation in favor of "corporate interests" all the time. Our best interests aren't at heart, it's the best interests of corporations.

On the other hand, we want th gov't to stay out of our lives. We want less cumbersome market regulations. Less big brother.
