I'm sure private organizations have their own "mercenaries" but I am equally sure that countries such as ours have not changed...

They haven't changed, as evident in looking at Iraq right now, and there is black ops being run in other places too. However, many of the places national forces would be deployed for commercial aims is now handled by private sector groups hired by TNCs (trans national corporations).

Fair enough...I think we can agree that this stuff still happens and the people in power are at least guilty of sitting back and doing nothing about it

I don't care what my gov't does as long as I can still watch "fear factor" listen to the latest pop music on my i-pod, bang hot 19 year olds who are only whoring it up 'cause daddy didn't buy them a BMW for their sixteenth b-day. I love everything about this country.

I am not being sarcastic. As long as the bad things, the horrible outrageous crimes against all that is humanly decent are not being commited where I can see them. Then I am OK with whatever the gov't does. As long as they keep ME fat and happy, they can torture, murder and kill whoever they want

Only when It begins to affect me will I stand Up and take notice. . . I refuse to be outraged by atrocities that will continue no matter what I say think or do.

I highly recommend you guys to see this movie. It is very synonymous to the post. Plus, Val Kilmer is in it and the dialogue kicks ass.

John Stockwell, former CIA Station Chief in Angola in 1976 - Black ops and the CIA

Wow, this is incredible! And it must all be totally true because after all a CIA guy wrote it, and makes money speaking about it!

Fantastic!

I'm headed right down to the local Communist office and sign-up!

Thanks for for revealing this!

What makes you think he was/is lying??

Simply because it is horrible and you don't want to believe it?
