The 1 in 4? That is common Knowledge but here you go:

Also I've posted links to the common opinion from Veterans who many are anti-McCain - Didn't think you guys were out of the loop on this one...

WASHINGTON — Veterans make up one in four homeless people in the United States, though they are only 11 percent of the general adult population, according to a report to be released Thursday.

How is John McCain like John Kerry?
Hint: Members of the POW community -- ex-prisoners, their families and the families of those still unaccounted for -- have issues with him.

Quote:
But, ironically, even setting aside fringe characters like Kiley, McCain has an icy relationship with the POW/MIA community. One longtime activist who has known McCain for decades described "real antipathy" toward the senator among families of the MIAs. And activists say that is not because of any widespread belief that POWs are still being held hostage. (Clydie Morgan, the national adjutant of American Ex-Prisoners of War, which released a statement condemning the anti-McCain leaflets, says that most members of her organization do not believe that any POWs are still alive in Southeast Asia.) On closer examination, the paradoxical story of McCain and the POW/MIA issue seems as complex as the American struggle with the legacy of the Vietnam War itself -- and fraught with the same raw emotion.

Everyone knows McCain is a former POW, but did you know he refuses to support a bipartisan effort to modernize the GI Bill and has voted against nearly every effort to increase funding for health care and disability benefits for wounded soldiers? Did you know that Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave him a D+ when they scored his voting record (whereas Obama got a B+ and Clinton an A-). Do you know that he voted with the interests of Disabled American Veterans only 20 percent of the time?

Exactly.

Tell me something, what would Clinton do with the military, and what would Obama do with the military?
From a first-person's perspective like yours, why do you think there are so many homeless vets?

John McCain: No Friend of Veterans | The War Comes Home, A Project of KPFA Radio

LMMFAO

Editorials are the new big thing when it comes to bringing home the truth eh? You're a joke and you have no business discussing politics.

First of all, that link that goes to the KPFA Radio site is...in one word...AMUTHERFUKKINGJOKEANDICAN'TBELIEV EIWASTEDMYTIMEONTHATSITE...

I watched the video that is embedded there, and I only made it 20 seconds in before I found my first lie...and it's a bald-faced, give me a break, holy shit you must be kidding me sort of lie.

The kid says that the education benefits given to vets when they get out barely, if at all, cover the cost of a college education.

This is an outright lie.

Here is the GI Bill for a full time student:

Chapter 30 Rates - October 1, 2007 - (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)

So you know, you pay into the GI Bill for a total of $1200, and you get $36k out of it, in lumps of $1,101 a month. So, this is just spending money per month.

If you pay the maximum of $1800 into it, you get this:

GI Bill $600 Buy Up Rates - (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)

Which comes out to $1250 a month for every month you are in school full time.

The total is $42,000 for college.

You make an initial investment of $1200, and it turns into $36,000.
You make an initial investment of $1800, and it turns into $42,000.

And another thing, if you are ON ACTIVE DUTY, YOUR TUITION AND BOOKS ARE FREE, AND THE MONEY DOESN'T COME OFF OF YOUR GI BILL ACCOUNT EITHER. IT'S CALLED TUITION ASSISTANCE, AND AS LONG AS YOU ARE IN THE CLASS IT IS FREE. I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND BECAUSE I TOOK PSYCHOLOGY AND COLLEGE ALGEBRA FOR FREE WHILE IN THE MILITARY.

Now, while I was in college, I made so much money off the GI Bill that I was able to take a large portion of those payments and invest it in real estate. Yep, that's right dude, I took my GI Bill money and invested the motherfuck out of it.

If you are a single adult, you should easily get the Pell Grant, you'd have the GI Bill from the military, and if you're worth one-third of one piece of shit (which are obviously standards too high for Nine and all of his "vets" that are speaking out "the truth" here), you'll get some sort of scholarship which will help bring in even more money.

So, here's a breakdown of my funds in college:

GI Bill
Pell Grant
Scholarships
Part Time Employment

Those 4 entries made me so much money that I had to invest it, as I had a huge number in my savings account, and I didn't like it sitting there.

And FWIW, I only worked while in college for about a year, and it was just little extra bullshit money, so I probably should not have even put it on the list.

Your other link basically says that there is a very small number of former POW's that don't like McCain because he doesn't think that there are any more POW's left in Vietnam. That's the crux of it YOU STUPID FUCK.

Let me quote your link with this snippet:

"Clydie Morgan, the national adjutant of American Ex-Prisoners of War, which released a statement condemning the anti-McCain leaflets, says that most members of her organization do not believe that any POWs are still alive in Southeast Asia."

Here's another one:

McCain's first sin was being a very early proponent of normalizing relations with the government of Vietnam, or resuming official political and economic ties cut off after the conflict ended. McCain's efforts in this realm infuriated some veterans still stinging from the American experience there. "Some people just can't let go of their hate," explained Rick Weidman, director of government relations at Vietnam Veterans of America.

Basically, the war ended and McCain thought we should work with the Vietnamese government to help rebuild the country, which is exactly what we do after a war has ended. To quote Powell, "You break it, you fix it."

The very next paragraph after the previously quoted one that I posted says this:

For example, as a congressman from Arizona in the early 1980s, McCain and Tom Ridge, then a congressman from western Pennsylvania, supported legislation that would have created a U.S. Interests Section in Vietnam, a low-grade version of an embassy and a signal of warming relations between the two nations. That touched a nerve for some veterans.

What an asshole McCain is man...He wanted a US Embassy in Vietnam so that we could restore relations. Man, what a dickhead. I can't think of anything worse than that.

I mean, it has nothing to do with the ability to keep a close eye on the region so we know what's going on or anything...What an asshole John must be.

More proof that all the POW's hate him is found right here:

Then during the administration of George H.W. Bush, McCain served on a Senate committee aimed at figuring out whether any American POWs might still be alive in Southeast Asia. The final report, issued in January 1993, concluded that "there is, at this time, no compelling evidence that proves that any American remains alive in captivity in Southeast Asia." It added that "the question arises as to whether it is fair to say that American POWs were knowingly abandoned in Southeast Asia after the war. The answer to that question is clearly no."

This last paragraph just completely seals McCain's grave dude. Lemme tell you...

...You fucking idiot...

You don't know anything.

Fuck you, fuck your stupidity, and most of all fuck your ability to waste other people's time.

I don't honestly know, but it's not from a lack of resources I can tell you that.

What, you must be confusing me with somebody else - while on your angry tirade.

I agree with the guys point that is what I mean by exactly, you want to argue about the meaning or 'exactly'?

I agree McCain will fund the Military well
I also agree with the point that McCain will be more likely to abuse the military as Bush did

I never said anything about McCain's willingness to fund the military. but if you want to make some more crap up feel freel.

Isn't the quote above one that YOU posted to bolster your argument??
