I don't understand how McCain bears the responsibility for all homeless vets.

interesting I did not know that.

Fact: John McCain's father covered up the murder of 34 US Navy men on the USSLIBERTY, and he continues that grand legacy.

Fact: John McCain is the Bitch of Edgar Bronfman

Unfortunately that's not true, certain issues he purposefully will not touch. USS Liberty Memorial

I have nothing to add to this debate which hasn't already been discussed. I'm happy as long as you guys don't try to hide this fact from the public or try to spin it.

I have known some homeless vets and quite honestly they deserved to be in that position either because they were overwhelmingly lazy or stupid or both.

And as people have already said there are resources out there.

On a side note some of the homeless people I have met in some ways chose to be homeless. It was the "easy" way out instead of owning up to their responsibilities.

This is a disgrace - Just knowing this makes me very sad about the people in power and the influence they have.

Thinking of all those service men coming home and how many of them will be soon homeless just doesn't sit well with me at all. With such power and influence John McCain really is not president material.

You know he wanted to run with John McCain against Bush last election?

We don't have great options this year, but more of the same John McCain is not what america needs
I have a solution to the veteran's problem. Don't enage in bullshit wars, and you won't have combat veteran's out on the street....because there won't be any combat veterans dealing with mental illness and injuries.

McCain is wrong because he is pro-military interventionism. Diplomacy? Nah...we'll just threaten and attack. No wait, I mean, it's a political season. We won't send our sons and daughter's to die for oil ever again...

I don't care how long McCain served or how long he was a POW. He is perhaps the worst thing that could happen to the military and to the foreign policy of the United States. Let's hope he doesn't become our next president.

At what point do the veterans take responsibility for helping themselves? We are in a bullshit war, but there's no reason for veterans to be on the streets, there's help, they just have to accept it. Obama seems like the one to rely on diplomacy the most, but all 3 candidates have expressed the possibility of an attack on enemies. I have no reason to believe that McCain will avoid diplomacy & just threaten and attack those we have a problem with.

anyone ever stop and realize that these homeless vets would be homeless even if they weren't vets? A lot of people join the armed forces as their only way to improve their life. Sometimes this happens, but sometimes the true stupidity and laziness of the person comes out. There is no reason for anyone to ever be homeless. A minimum wage job covers more than enough money for food and shelter if you work enough hours. It is all about laziness.
