Yeah, and to his credit, and to his team's, he pulled it off. However, I think that he has some large obstacles to overcome in the general election. I don't have the polling numbers handy to back up my next comment, but I believe that McCain will not be able to count on moderates (Republican, Democrat, or Independent) to back him up, which has been a large part of his support structure. I see most going towards Obama. With many of the core Conservatives feeling alienated with McCain's nomination, will they turn out this November? Without somebody to rile them up, such as Hillary Clinton, I don't think so.
If Obama can end this primary quickly, and unite the party (which is questionable, I admit), he owns this election. McCain simply doesn't have enough support. Throw in Obama's superior oratory skills and energy, and I don't see how McCain can climb this hill. I'm waiting for the moment when they stand side-by-side debating, and the contrast in age and energy is there for all to see. I think that will be the defining moment in the general election. It's all downhill for McCain from that point.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

His actual response:
"This is offensive, and I think it's disappointing, because John McCain always says, 'Well, I'm not going to run that kind of politics,'" Obama said. "And then to engage in that kind of smear, I think, is unfortunate, particularly since my policy toward Hamas has been no different than his."
The Illinois senator added: "For him to toss out comments like that, I think, is an example of him losing his bearings as he pursues this nomination. We don't need name-calling in this debate."

McCain is the only clear choice... Hillary's done. Obama's been done every since his ties with his mentor "that crazy racist preacher" came to light. Who else?
McCain all the way!

First it was Paul-bots, now it's Obama-bots? Why not just sum it up, not-my-guy-bots.
Does it anger you that politicians you don't get behind happen to attract motivated supporters?
