For the most part yes....ODD is part genetic part environmental and if not treated, usually leads to Conduct Disorder. Researchers believe that individuals are "pre-wired" to exhibit a behavior (e.g., aggression) and environmental factors (e.g., poor parenting practices) contribute to the onset of such behaviors. In young children, ODD is treated by teaching parents the skills on how to manage a child with significant behavior problems.
