They can say whatever they want, unless they want to be tax-exempt: which essentially is taking money from the federal government, who then has every right to regulate their political actions. They knew that when they signed up, and consciously violated election laws.
They should simply forfeit their exemption if they want to be politically active and not be neutral. I as a taxpayer, do not want to effectively subsidize the electioneering of delusional zealots for their favorite candidate.
