politics is about power. Govt, Economic, Religious, Military...all the same thing. The trend since the enlightenment has been the promotion of a liberalization of power to individuals as a mechanism against consolidated tyranny.

The world today isn't really that bad. Business as usual I would say. But we are getting there. Someday, almost certainly not in our lifetimes, but someday, we will figure out how silly it all is and just sit back for a bit, see what happens.

BTW, I get what you're saying, you have some valid ideas, but is it too much to ask to capitalize where appropriate and cut down on the run-on sentences. I'm not a grammar nazi or anything, but that sh*t was hard to read.
