How long will Israel's offensive last?

I was listening to NPR on the way to work, and a middle east expert, I forget exactly who, seemed to think that this current offensive and this wave of violence on the part of the Israelis is only going to last a week or so longer. He went on to say that Israel knows that the international community will only be able to stand this violence for a limited time, and they know their time is running out. This being said, they're trying to destroy every target they've had their eyes on for the past few years, and also trying to coax out any new targets.

They have been playing a sort of cat and mouse game with the guerrillas. Hezbollah militants would roll out these rockets from their hiding spots and fire them as fast as they could before Israeli spy planes and satellites could spot them and they could be destroyed.

In this expert's opinion, Israel is trying to express it's might, and let it's neighbors know that it can and will fuck them up at a moment's notice, while crippling the infrastructure and will of the hezbollah militants.

What do you guys think? Another week? Longer than that?

actually, speaking of Palestine, it does sound like they intend to do the same thing, inhibit their sovereignty by looking to control their borders (to keep arms from coming in again)

Well they occupied Lebanon for 22 years (illegally if you follow UN resolution 425) last time. Does an occupation count as an offensive?
