Snives823 confuses me. He said he made it big despite not going to college, but then in another thread, he said he was working on a masters degree. How does that work? And he is working as a personal trainer at a gym? If you're a CEO making $450k a year, why would you work at a gym? And how would you find the time?

Where did I say I didn't go to college? I worked at a gym for a few months overseas in Manila for my buddy that is just old info. I didn't say anything about 450k a year either I'll do more than that in business this year.

You are a business owner yet you denigrate the employees of a business, a 7-11. Dude you have no credibility. Why don't you just start a thread saying you think everyone should just kiss your ass 24/7?

Ok, so the lower class cant afford it, the middle class cant afford it, but you don't want rich people to pay taxes either so who the fuck is gonna pay for all this military and defense you love so much?

So why is the capital-gains tax rate lower than the income tax rate?

Because if you're truly making billions a year a progressive tax rate wont mean shit. You'll still be making more money and living a life that 99% of the country doesn't. But, since you're rich and have everything, you'll get bored and you'll start bitching about paying marginally higher tax rates to help kids get an education even though it keeps them off the streets and benefits everyone , even you.

Yeah I'm confused too since he said in another thread he lives in Manila(which is where alot of Americans go because the cost of living is so low)hes a strength coach in Manila, and that he got a job with his freidns because his "high-school credentials were so good".

It is our personal responsibility to provide for our families, and why should Bill Gates be punished with higher taxes when he provided enough that his family will never have to worry/work again. Anyone here has an equal oppurtunity to start a business like he and I have, but so many people do not do it.
I own a business and I used to be in the Army and also the Ironworkers Union for 2 years afterwards. I was a solid worker in the union and I made descent money for it, but now I work 3 times as hard in my business and I deserve to make 5 times the money. My thought is that me working 3 times as hard earns 3 times the money, I earn another 1 time for providing 20-40 jobs steadily, and another 1 time because I took a huge risk starting a business with 2 kids and a wife overseas. I pay each of my employees enough to maintain an apartment and to get around off work okay, but if I had lower taxes and I didn't pay 15% to social programs on top of each check they would make more and I could pass on more of my savings. If you lowered taxes I could raise my minimum and maximum wages easily.
Why do any of you deserve my money? Give me one good reason I have to pay more taxes than any of you. Why do you disagree with a flat tax to be fair and balanced? A flat tax to pay for Military, Police, Fireman, and Infrastructure is okay with me, but taxes to pay for Welfare, Universal anything, and other socialist programs are totally unfair and unbalanced.

you say this like rich people and poor people went to the same schools, had the same parents, and after college, started off in the same foot right after college.
basically, it takes money to make money. some people, of all races, need programs to get them on the right foot. i'm not talking about state welfare. i'm talking about scholarships, work training programs, community programs, etc. You have to realize that in the poorest communities, the only businesses around are liquor stores and mcdonalds. now how is a community supposed to grow and develop from that? where are kids going to hang out without being tempted by gangs and drugs? there needs to be programs that help those communities grow and those communities need money. So therefore, that money needs to come from taxes.
And it takes money to make money. Some rich people (dare i say most) had access to money in some way shape or form so they could gain the necessary tools to succeed in life. Those that were successful in crossing the class lines were extremely hardworking and had extraordinary drive and work ethic. Some were even just lucky. Point being is that if you're fortunate enough to be wealthy, maybe some of that wealth should be invested in other communities so the whole country can be strong.
i mean, you bitch about crime, and you bitch about drugs, well it ain't going to change unless the access to the tools necessary to succeed is as equal to all as possible. so unless you don't mind the ills of society, then you need to pay the price and invest in a better one.
besides, what rich people don't realize is that business would thrive if all classes had money to spend. but they're short sighted and don't see it as a long term investment.
